If you don't have nice things to say...

I was having dinner with my fren yesterday and I mention I have a blog. After getting over the inital comment of shock that I actually I have a blog, the next comment was "i bet you won't keep the blog for long." I was thinking what sort of encouragement is this.

I realise having deal with many young adults problems recently (I am a person who don't have my own kids but got a lot of children problem), that the things you say to them which we consider not important or maybe made as a passing comment becomes a big issue for them.

Making comments like "Your so-and so friend is so much skinny and pretty than you" can cause a person to go and stop eating and exercise like crazy. Then you will be making comment like "Please eat.. why you not eating.. you are so skinny.." Which validates the point that they are skinny and they are beautiful. Don't ask me how they reach that conclusion.

Comments like "Your fren is smarter than you" can cause a massive crying bout.

So please please as mature adults be mindful of your words to these budding minds and remember to if you do not have a nice comment to make just say "Be cool.. you are a great person".

To the young adults... Remember God made you unique and you are talented and beautiful in your own way. You must find your own path in life.

And most importantly no crying phone call to me after 10:00 pm !!!!!

There are different types of encouragement. I am just using the "back door" type to ensure that you keep the enthusiasm alive in writing your blog. In cantonese, it is called "kik cheong fatt". I know how determine you are to prove me wrong.
